Compensation: Tier 1 - Daily - $4675 per 24 hours, Night Call - $400/shift, Weekend Call - $3970/weekend, Call Back - $410/hr.
Tier 2 - Daily - $4830 per 24 hours, Night Call - $415/shift, Weekend Call - $4130/weekend, Call Back - $420/hr.
Schedule
Coverage Needed: Approximately 3-10 Days Per Month
Minimum Weekend Requirement: At Least 1 Weekend Per Month
Day Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Night Call: 5:00 PM-7:00 AM
Rotating Weekend Call Required
Provider Must Be Able to Cover Two Sites Approximately 35 Miles Apart

Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
Average Patients Per Day: Approximately 10
Cardiac Surgery ICU Patients: Approximately 7-10
ECMO Patients: Approximately 2-4
Inpatient Surgical Patients: Approximately 4-10
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient Clinic Patient Evaluation
Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Management
Surgical Management of Cardiac Surgery Patients
Critical Care Management of Cardiac Surgery Patients
Provide Evening, Night, and Weekend Coverage
Daytime Rounding and Clinical Decision-Making
Maintain Continuity of Care
Manage Patient Discharges
Accept and Manage Transfers
Provide Cath Lab Backup
Provide Consultative Services at Night
Elective Surgery Referrals Are Expected to Be Rare
Provide Second-Call Management After ICU APPs
Mechanical Circulatory Support
ECMO
Impella
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
Must Be Comfortable Managing Patients Requiring Mechanical Circulatory Support
Support Staff
24-Hour In-House Perfusion Coverage When ECMO Is Active
24-Hour In-House PA Coverage
PAs Provide First-Call Coverage for Surgical, CICU, and Floor Needs
PAs Assist With Surgical Cases
No Resident Involvement
No Fellows
Requirements
Board Certified - Required
Connecticut License or IMLC - Required
Connecticut License in Hand at Submission Preferred
ACLS - Required
BLS - Required
Epic Experience - Preferred
Cardiothoracic Surgery Experience - Required
Minimum 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery - Required
Must Be Comfortable With ECMO, Impella, and IABP Management
Must Be Able to Provide Coverage at Both Assigned Sites
