Junior or Staff Accountant

A rapidly growing, lean new venture in the affordable healthcare space is seeking a Junior or Staff Accountant to join its expanding team in Alabama. The ideal candidate holds an accounting or related degree, has experience working with accounting systems more robust than QuickBooks, and brings an outgoing, coachable personality. Candidates with start-up or small CPA firm experience will be especially valued. This role offers exceptional growth potential as the company continues its fast-paced expansion.

Job Function

• Assist with full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, and processing payments.
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing AP-related reconciliations and schedules.
• Maintain accurate and organized vendor files, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Help onboard and set up new vendors in the accounting system.
• Work within a mid-size or enterprise-level accounting system (larger than QuickBooks) to process transactions and run reports.
• Communicate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment inquiries.
• Assist with process improvements and workflow efficiencies within the AP function.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong internship experience in accounting
• 5 years of relevant work experience in an accounting role.
• Familiarity with accounting systems larger than QuickBooks.
• Experience in a start-up environment or smaller CPA firm is a plus.
