Job Function
- Need is due to growth with 2 APPs going on maternity leave.
- Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducting physical exams, reviewing medical history, and interpreting lab results to diagnose blood disorders or cancers.
- Treatment Management: Developing and implementing treatment plans (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy) in collaboration with physicians.
- Symptom Management: Prescribing medications to manage pain, nausea, and, and managing treatment side effects.
- Procedures: Performing or assisting with procedures such as bone marrow biopsies or lumbar punctures.
- Patient Education & Support: Educating patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and navigating the healthcare system.
- Coordination of Care: Working within multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, radiologists, social workers) to ensure cohesive care.
- Survivorship & Palliative Care: Managing follow-up care for cancer survivors or providing supportive care for advanced disease.
- Ideally seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with 2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience as a provider.
- Will consider candidates with at least 1 year of Hem-Onc experience.
- Also open to APPs with 2 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, ICU, or other inpatient settings who are interested in transitioning into Hem-Oncology.
- Board Certification (BC) required.
- Active Connecticut (CT) license required.
- Clean professional and disciplinary history required.
