Controller - Technology Company,

Our client, a publicly traded technology company, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their growing organization. This hybrid role, based in New York, offers the opportunity to lead a small accounting team while partnering closely with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning. As a newly spun-off entity specializing in cloud computing, AI training, and data-center infrastructure, the company is poised for significant growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting a dynamic tech environment.

Job Function

• Lead and manage the accounting team, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the SEC reporting team to provide complete and accurate financial data for external filings, with the potential to assume full responsibility for the SEC reporting function over time.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with SOX requirements.
• Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions (revenue recognition, equity, leases, business combinations, etc.).
• Support internal and external auditors with audit and quarterly review procedures.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and systems enhancements to scale with company growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, operations, HR, and other departments to ensure financial alignment.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting.
• 10-15 years of accounting and reporting experience.
• Background in public accounting, followed by hands on SEC Reporting, Policy, and Operational Accounting.
• CPA required.
• Tech industry preferred.
• Prior managerial experience.
