What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Scientist (Clearance Required) position at Whiteboard Federal Technologies?
Whiteboard Federal is looking for a Data Scientist to provide mission-critical support to our customers. We are seeking someone with outstanding analytical abilities and comfortable working with cross-functional teams and systems. You must be a self-starter and be able to learn on the go. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as you will work very closely with diverse teams. This role evaluates and uses algorithms for Natural Language Process (NLP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). This role uses large data sets to perform entity resolution and extraction for work products and creates models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.

Primary Responsibilities
- Create and track accuracy and performance metrics.
- Gather data required for analysis and model building.
- Prototype models by using high-level modeling languages such as R or in software languages such as Python.
- Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation.
- Experience building predictive and optimization models.
- Expert knowledge in at least one of the following fields: machine learning, operations research, data science research.
- Fluency in a high-level modeling language.
- Ability to do financial and statistical modeling.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong communication, influencing, and partnership skills.
- Experience with Big Data technologies.
- A Bachelor or Masters Degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python or Java
- Ability to distill problem definitions, models, and constraints from informal business requirements; and to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives.
- Ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in a production environment.
