What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager for Freight Broker position at White Star Logistics?
We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager for our Drayage team to assign and direct all work performed. You will supervise all areas of operation, manage the team and ensure excellent customer experience. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Direct all operational aspects including operations, customer service and sales
- Build carrier base and customer base by sourcing carriers, negotiating rates and contracts
- Respond to and resolve any problems or issues that may arise
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities
- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly
- Comply with all regulations/applicable laws
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company
Skills:
- Proven strong management experience and skills
- Knowledge of business of logistics, operations and supply chain management
- Warehouse and transportations knowledge is a plus
- Team Building skills, Customer service skills/Creative and critical thinking skills
- Intermodal/Drayage/Freight Broker experience (5 years of experience)
- Familiarity with industry’s rules and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills
- Results driven and customer focused
- TMS knowledge and MS Suite
- Leadership and management skills
- BS in Business Administration or related field
