CLC After School Site Coordinator – Whitson Elementary School

$31.59-$42.65 per hour DOE · 4 hours per day · Grant Funded Position

General Position Summary: Classified Staff will help execute and supervise out-of-school activities with students. Our goal is to raise literacy and math achievement in grades 1-4 and improve academic and nonacademic performance, while providing a safe and supportive environment and build and strengthen relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and coordinate a site specific 21st CCLC After School Program and summer school program
- Direct and participate in student recruitment
- Recruit and retain staff, students, families and volunteers. Assist and support staff daily
- Train, supervise and coordinate program staff and all program activities
- Collaboratively work with students, parents, school day staff and community members in all program areas
- Collaboratively schedule and plan enrichment and intervention programs and ensure materials and curriculum needed are available in a timely manner and aligned with grant required framework
- Communicate with parents, school day staff, program staff and administrators through emails, newsletters and by the district website
- Participate in district, program and statewide training activities
- Effectively coordinate with school day staff and 21st CCLC staff regarding specific student needs
- Facilitate staff meetings and provide staff development to ensure staff have training to implement a YPQA program for students
- Establish and maintain student attendance accounting and reporting procedures
- Collaborate with planning and delivering weekly classes and monthly family events
- Ensures the implementation of an effective student management (behavior) system consistent with school and district student management systems
- Collaborate with the Project Director, staff and external evaluators to maintain ongoing assessment and evaluation activities to meet record-keeping and reporting requirements
- Utilize problem solving skills, communication, conflict resolution with students, staff and parents
- Computer data input in a timely manner for state and federal reporting
- Use student data management systems and student’s data to establish academic levels and monitor progress of interventions
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with others
- Prepare and edit reports and other materials
- Van Certified and ability to drive a van with students
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or 6 years of relevant experience
- Two years’ experience working with students in an educational setting
- Demonstrated experience in promoting the success and achievement of low-income students from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Works well with students and can develop and implement programs to help them improve academic and social skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- “Highly Qualified” status or recent teaching experience
- Bilingual
- Familiar with computer-based interventions
