Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental software systems.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for efficient patient management.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing compassionate care to young patients.
- Maintain infection control standards and adhere to aseptic techniques.
Skills
- Proficient in EMR systems, particularly Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
- Experience with medical documentation, coding, and records management.
- Familiarity with 3D scanners and other modern dental technology is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and team members professionally.
