What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at White River Veterinary Clinic?
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and animal-loving Kennel Assistant to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of our furry friends while providing exceptional customer service. We are a very fast paced environment with little to no sit down time!
Duties:
- Assist with daily kennel maintenance, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service when engaging with pet owners.
- Bathe pets as needed typically daily
- Handle and care for animals, including walking, feeding, administering medication and providing exercise
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
- Assist with heavy lifting, moving, and transporting animals as needed.
- Required to work every other weekend, coming in once in the morning and once in the evening on Saturday and Sunday to let dogs out & feed them.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and move quickly around the clinic.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
