What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community-Based Learning Educator position at White River Valley High School?
The White River Valley High School is searching for a Community-Based Learning (CBL) Educator for the 26-27 school year. The CBLE coordinates and facilitates the work-based learning and volunteer service programs at WRVHS. This position develops and maintains community partnerships and works directly with students on interests, skills development, and job/volunteer placement. They will also work directly with the Flexible Pathways Coordinator and all staff to align CBL and volunteer experiences with graduation requirements and other expectations of WRVHS.
Education and/or experience – Work-Based Learning endorsement from the state of Vermont, or experience to demonstrate work placement knowledge and eligibility for endorsement.

Responsibilities
Provide career awareness and/or skill development opportunities for students according to interest and need: , which may include, but is not limited: entrepreneurship, journalism, communication skills, job shadowing, career fairs or workshops, and more.
Provide leadership for student CBL placement, from job placement to job shadows and career learning opportunities that match student learning goals.
Maintain contact with student and supervisor/mentor, including conducting site visits, and monitor and guide student progress, in CBL and volunteer programs,
Complete all legal documentation.
Coordinate learning with licensed educators and Flexible Pathways Coordinator.
Complete public awareness activities to recognize student participants in CBL and volunteer service: media recognition, certificates/awards, and special events.
Assist teachers and/or administrators in the arrangement of professional contacts for classrooms or school-wide events; coordinate employment- and volunteer-related field trips.
Maintain clear communication about CBL and volunteer service programs with all stakeholders including students, staff, community and the school board.
Any/all duties assigned by the administration to meet the articulated WRUD mission/vision and continuous improvement goals.
