Duties
- Lead and manage the fire department’s daily operations, ensuring swift response to emergencies including fires, accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and rescue missions
- Develop, implement, and review departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to enhance operational effectiveness
- Coordinate with local agencies, emergency responders, and community organizations to foster collaborative safety initiatives
- Oversee maintenance of firefighting equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure readiness at all times
- Conduct regular drills and training exercises focused on fire suppression techniques, first aid procedures, CPR, and basic life support skills
- Supervise personnel recruitment, performance evaluations, scheduling, and professional development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards related to firefighting operations and emergency medical services
Skills
- Extensive EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) experience combined with strong first aid knowledge
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS), CPR certification, and vital signs assessment
- Mechanical knowledge related to firefighting equipment and emergency vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during rescue operations or equipment handling
- Valid driver’s license with experience in operating large emergency response vehicles
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team under pressure
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination during emergencies and community outreach
- Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazmat Ops and Awareness, Fost Training and Fire Chief Executive Training (Required after 1 Year)
- 5 years experience in the fire service
