What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift - Boat Chopper position at White River Marine Group?
POSITION SUMMARY: Utilizing Chopper guns to “spray” rolled and or woven fiberglass on to boat molds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Spray chopped fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments. – 85%
- Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by measuring with rulers or micrometers, by checking them visually, or by tapping them to detect bubbles or dead spots. – 15%
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum one year in an industrial/production setting, preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Must be capable of holding 20lb. chopper gun above head and as low as the wrist for fifteen (15) minute intervals.
- Must wear protective equipment including respirator, paper body suit, gloves, masks, eyewear and ear plugs as required.
- Must maintain proper working condition of the chopper gun and related equipment.
- Must be able to receive respirator clearance (Chop Gun Operators are required to use a half-face respirator and Tyvek suit at all times while in the department.)
- Ability to read, understand, and evaluate work processes and drawings
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 100 lbs. with assistance (i.e. squat/thrust).
- Must maintain daily cleanliness of department.
- Ability to work in all environments both outdoors and non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facilities and/or warehouses.
- Must be able to work in a facility that manufactures and/or works with various chemicals and materials.
