About the Role:
The Surgical Technician-Certified plays a critical role in supporting surgical teams by preparing operating rooms and ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. The technician collaborates closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures. Ultimately, this role contributes to the seamless execution of surgical operations and the overall quality of patient care. They are also responsible for direct patient care in the Maternity department assisting nurses with care of patients and assisting with deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program.
- Completion of a formal surgical technology training program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital or surgical center environment.
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA).
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills developed through clinical experience.
- Additional training in specialized surgical areas such as orthopedics or cardiovascular surgery.
