Preschool Assistant Teacher

White Plains Children’s Center is looking for a dependable, caring, patient and devoted Assistant Teacher for our preschool classroom. White Plains Children's Center is a contract agency with Wake County schools for preschool students with IEPs that require service delivery within an inclusive Early Childhood classroom. White Plains Children's Center is an inclusive developmental day school that serves children ages 1-5, 50% of whom have special needs.

Responsibilities: Include working with a lead teacher and a second co-teacher to run a classroom of early preschool aged children. This would include teaching a developmentally, child-led curriculum and accommodating activities to best meet the needs of the children in the classroom. Parent communication, collaboration with team members, parents and other school staff are also required. Diapering and assisting with feeding may be required, depending on the needs within the classroom.

Qualifications and Skills: Candidates must meet the following regulatory criteria...

- must be at least 18 years old

- must have CPR/First Aid- must have NC DHHS Child Care background check clearing you to work with children (https://ncchildcarecbc.nc.gov)

- past experience working with young children

- past experience working within a team environment
