The following full-time position is available at the White Oak School in Westfield, MA beginning in August of 2026:
We are looking for a certified Physical education/Health teacher to work with students in grades 3-12 at a small, state-approved special education school in Westfield, MA. Small class sizes and wonderful, supportive working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement physical education curriculum in alignment with state curriculum frameworks educational standards.
- Plan and conduct engaging physical education classes for students of all ages.
- Assess students' physical abilities and progress to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation.
-Prioritize health and safety in all situations.
-Deliver Health education in accordance with the MA Curriculum Frameworks.
-Maintain the physical space of the gymnasium as well as the PE equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
- Teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education
- Experience in developing and implementing physical education and health curriculums in accordance with the MA Curriculum Frameworks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Knowledge of health and fitness principles
- Familiarity with sports and recreational activities
- Commitment to promoting physical health and wellness in students
