The Landaff School District is seeking qualified applicants for a parttime School Nurse position. This is for approximately 2 hours per week. There is the potential for additional hours with a nearby school.
Position Duties and Responsibilities :
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive School Health Program. Including participating with Staff in developing and implementing school health programs/curriculum and making classroom presentations as needed.
Promotes wellness activities for students and staff.
Administer medications and medical treatments as needed.
Maintains up-to-date cumulative health and immunization records on all students.
Assumes responsibility for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management and referral activities for students.
Actively participates in the scheduling, coordination and preparation of school-based clinics.
Promotes a healthy school environment by advocating for environments that are adaptable to the students special needs.
Assume responsibility for own professional growth including those requirements for staff development that apply.
Position Duties and Responsibilities :
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position: Provides emergency care for students and staff in case of illness or accident.
Maintains the school health office, including developing a budget and ordering all necessary equipment and supplies.Establishes and maintains a comprehensive School Health Program. Including participating with Staff in developing and implementing school health programs/curriculum and making classroom presentations as needed.
Promotes wellness activities for students and staff.
Administer medications and medical treatments as needed.
Maintains up-to-date cumulative health and immunization records on all students.
Assumes responsibility for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management and referral activities for students.
Works with, on behalf of students towards the alleviation or correction of health problems that are interfering with student learning, attendance or effective participation at school.
Assists parents in the referral and use of appropriate resources to aid with health and health care issues.Actively participates in the scheduling, coordination and preparation of school-based clinics.
Promotes a healthy school environment by advocating for environments that are adaptable to the students special needs.
Collaborates with school staff to maintain a safe, sanitary and aesthetic school facilityProvides for the promotion and maintenance of health as well as the prevention of illness and injuries.
Actively participates in Individual Health Plan meetings, faculty team meetings, monthly School Nurse meetings and other meetings as appropriate.Assume responsibility for own professional growth including those requirements for staff development that apply.
Salary : $40,000 - $60,000
