Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with precision and care.
• Operate Clover POS system to process retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and ensuring their needs are met promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, and dining spaces to uphold food safety standards.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments, give change, and balance registers at shift end using proper cash handling procedures.
• Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks to support the café’s offerings and ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers quickly while maintaining high-quality beverage preparation and service.
• Keep busy during slower periods of the day, busing tables, and helping with dishes.

Experience

• Previous barista experience and familiarity with coffee brewing techniques.
• Experience with POS systems to facilitate smooth sales transactions.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests in a lively environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register balancing.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail in beverage preparation and cleanliness.
• Self motivated to complete checklists in a timely manner during slower periods of the day and at closing.
