What You'll Do
- Ensure the hotel's maintenance and upkeep standards meet White Lodging, brand, and guest expectations across all areas of the property
- Make structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings; patch or replace plaster and plasterboard; paint walls and ceilings
- Trim, cut, and lay flooring — including linoleum, tile, and carpet — as part of routine hotel maintenance and renovation work
- Check fixtures, lighting, and signage for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
- Respond to and complete hotel maintenance work orders in a timely, guest-focused manner
- Keep all work areas — including the maintenance shop and guest rooms — neat, safe, and orderly
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general hotel maintenance, with the ability to operate hand and power tools proficiently
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems — extensive training provided; prior HVAC experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license — required
- High school diploma or equivalent — required; prior technical, trade, or vocational training preferred
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 25 lbs. occasionally; ability to stand and move for extended periods
