We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Operations Director to oversee the administrative, financial, and operational functions of our busy restaurant. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost controls, facility upkeep oversight, human resource management and smooth daily operations.
Position Summary
This administrative position works closely with both the Service Director and our culinary team to provide financial insights, cost control supervision, HR management, facility maintenance scheduling and other critical administrative functions. By offering guidance and operational support this position enables the Service Director and culinary team to focus on caring for guests and meeting service standards goals. The Operations Director will also cross train in both service and culinary divisions to better understand the operational aspects of these divisions. This position reports directly to company officers. Estimated schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. Some flexibility possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Human resource administration including onboarding, offboarding, employee issue resolution, payroll, and required HR documentation (Initial and ongoing training provided as needed).
- Program and enter operational data into our Excel spreadsheet dashboard.
- Input invoices, receipts, and inventory into xtraCHEF automated system and generate required reports (Training provided)
- Proficiency in Toast point of sales system including reporting and programming (Training provided).
- Oversee accurate inventory practices including receiving, counting, reporting and resolving discrepancies.
- Achieve cost of goods and labor goals by providing important financial insights generated from the company dashboard to service and culinary managers.
- Ensure compliance with all labor and liquor laws by overseeing required licenses, postings and employee work regulations.
- Daily facility walkthrough including opening and closing checklists completion
- Maintain a safe and fully operational facility by overseeing minor repairs and scheduling service for larger facility and equipment repairs.
- Foster thoughtful and professional work environment based on open and consistent communication.
- Identify and report any potential business operational issues to company officers and assist with implementing company policies and procedures that ensure future success.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Two years management experience, preferably in hospitality industry.
- Strong computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel a must. Proficiency a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Human resource administration experience.
- Previous administrative or clerical office management experience.
- 2 years hospitality industry experience, preferably restaurant.
- Experience with Toast POS.
- Experience with inventory management
