Located in Hammonton, NJ on a 60 acre farm, White Horse Winery is one of New Jersey’s most awarded and recognized wineries. We have a beautiful tasting room and outdoor seating areas including firepits, seating over 150 people in total. We are open 6 days a week with live music and food trucks every weekend and mid-week events most weeks. We have a reputation for excellent wine and for providing an excellent experience for our guests.

Are you passionate about fine wine and exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in a dynamic, upscale environment? We're seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wine Server to join our tasting room team at White Horse Winery.

As a Tasting Room Server, you'll be the face of our winery, guiding guests through wine flights, tasting, and sharing your expertise on our wines. From the moment they walk through the door, you'll provide personalized recommendations, enhance their understanding of our varietals, and ensure each visit is nothing short of exceptional.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the tasting room.
• Pour our wine flights, tasting and bottles with poise, professionalism, and a deep understanding of our wines.
• Educate guests about our winemaking process, vineyard practices, and the unique characteristics of each wine.
• Assist guests in selecting wines tailored to their preferences and occasions.
• Provide outstanding customer service by anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the tasting room, ensuring a pristine environment for guests.
• Contribute to a positive team dynamic by collaborating with team members and supporting each other's success.

We're looking for someone with availability on both weekdays and weekends, with Sunday availability being a requirement. Shifts start and end about an hour earlier / later then our opening and closing hours.

There is some 'heavy lifting'. Servers must be able to lift and carry 35lb cases of wine, sometimes several times a day. If you cannot do that or do not want to do that, please do not apply.

There is some required hustle. The job is often fast paced and requires servers to move a lot. We have seating inside and down a flight of stairs outside. If you like competing to see who finishes their shift with the most steps, this could be for you. (I think the record is around 20k steps on a double shift.) People who enjoy the hustle will do better at this job.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a wine-focused establishment.
• Knowledge of wine
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
• Professional demeanor and a genuine passion for delivering fantastic service.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
• TIPS Certification (REQUIRED)
• A team player
• Ability to comfortably lift 35 lbs
• Importantly, in NJ you must be 18 years old to serve wine
