Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, with a keen eye for color theory and design. This role involves working on various projects, including renovations, restorations, and new constructions. The Painter will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards and maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as needed.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and airless paint spraying equipment.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine the scope of work required for each project.
- Estimate materials and labor costs for painting jobs accurately.
- Perform plastering, caulking, and other surface preparation tasks as necessary.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and basic math skills for accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of color theory and the ability to mix paints to achieve desired shades.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and industrial painting techniques.
- Understanding of construction site practices, including blueprint reading and schematics.
- Background in carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry) is a plus.
- Experience in plastering, stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, and maintenance person tasks is highly desirable.
