What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at White Cross Pharmacy?
We are a locally owned, community pharmacy, in search of a Pharmacy Technician to become part of our healthcare team. You will assist the pharmacist in the processing and preparation of prescriptions and other key tasks to ensure the successful daily operation of the pharmacy. At our hometown pharmacy, we strive to provide our customers with friendly, personalized care and are looking for an energetic individual with exceptional customer service skills to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Perform computer entry of patient demographic and prescription information utilizing the pharmacy data management system.
- Answer phone calls from customers and health care professionals and resolve problems in a proactive manner.
- Assist in the filling and labeling of prescriptions, with final verification by the pharmacist.
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience at all times.
- Interact with other health care professionals in the delivery of patient care.
- Adjudicate claims to third party payers and initiate/follow up on prior authorizations.
- Perform inventory management, including ordering and receiving of pharmacy stock.
- Responsible for cash register transactions, and with assisting customers in selection of over-the-counter products.
- Help to maintain a neat and organized pharmacy environment.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
- One year of pharmacy or other healthcare related experience preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification not required, but preferred.
Hours:
- Full-time position desired
- Pharmacy hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Sat 8 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Closed Sunday and all major holidays.
- Position would involve working 1 Saturday shift per month.
