Primary Purpose:

Work under the guidance of the Behavior Support Specialist to provide 1) support for students with challenging behaviors and social emotional dysregulation, and 2) support and training for teachers and staff to address and manage children with challenging behaviors.

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure:

High school Diploma

Pass Paraprofessional Test

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of students with special needs

Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology

Knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans

Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and restraint/isolation guidelines, and procedures as taught in CRT

Ability to work with students with pervasive developmental disabilities

Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
