Job Description
The Surgery Center is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center committed to quality for our patient population. Their specialties include plastic surgery, ocular plastics, general surgery, GI, GYN, GU and Chiropractics.
The center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, a large, comfortable waiting area, a pre-operative area, two operating rooms, and a non-invasive procedure room and recovery area.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a skilled full time surgical technologists to join their team and individuals who are comfortable working with orthopedics, neuro-spine and podiatry.
This opportunity is an ideal for someone who is outgoing, able to multi task and provide exceptional customer service to patients (orthopedics, neuro-spine experience a plus).
Position Duties: Experienced individuals with 2 years working in Operating Room.
Assist in the Operating Room as a team member. Surgical Technologist will assist during surgery as directed by physician. Recognizes and responds to and assists in acute emergency situations. Conforms to prescribed aseptic techniques required for surgical procedures by scrubbing prior to working in sterile field or area. Completes necessary arrangements of operating room prior to surgical procedures by setting up or laying out instruments, surgical trays, and assembling equipment items as required for particular procedure. Cleans operating room after surgical procedures by removing and disposing of contaminated instruments; disassembling instruments for sterilization required. Before an operation, help to prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.Maintains and ensures operational readiness of instruments and equipment, departmental supplies and sterilized items. May perform patient care functions such as patient prepping, and operating a variety of electronic equipment as directed. Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participates in the surgical pause to assure correct patient and surgical site. Follows surgeon's directions and carries out requests. Assisting patients pre and post operatively. Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment. Adjust and check equipment to ensure it is working properly. Ensure clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety and explosive hazards and aseptic technique.
•Need to be certified in the state of Maryland and have your American Heart Association BLS certification

Qualifications
Required experience:
•Surgical Technologist, Operating Room: 2 years
Required licenses or certifications:
•BLS-AHA
•Maryland Certification or Registration
