General Purpose

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Learn and follow food service routines within a short period of time
- Set up and assemble meal trays
- Breakdown returned trays and wash dishes
- Assist with serving meals as needed
- Operate the dishwasher safely and effectively
- Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shift
- Monitor dishwasher water temperatures throughout washing cycles
- Prepare nourishments and snacks
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators
- Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen and dining area floors
- Remove trash and garbage from kitchen areas
- Store groceries in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at the end of each shift
- Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor when requested
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training
- Work cooperatively and professionally with staff in all departments

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers and team members
- Ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to understand and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certificate
- Frequent standing and walking
- Occasional sitting
- Frequent reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Frequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus
