Preschool Support Staff

Hiring Entry Level Toddler & Primary Aides & Assistants

All positions start 8/26

All position are full-time, 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, no exceptions.

Qualifications for these positions include:

• Must have a High School diploma, pass a background study, and provide legal documentation for employment for the role of Aide
• For the role of Assistant, in addition to the above, you must also meet the Rule 3 education & experience requirements
• Must be able to move freely and safely throughout the day, including bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, standing, walking, and running as needed. The role also requires using stairs, twisting, lifting at least 35 pounds, and performing routine tasks such as cleaning and organizing all while actively supervising young children and maintaining a safe, positive environment
• Ability to change tasks quickly, follow direction as well as take initiative
• Ability to work collaboratively in a work team of three adults
• Previous experience working in Montessori classrooms is not required, but experience working in a childcare setting is preferred.

Basic Duties of the Support Staff include, but not necessarily are limited to the following:

·       Assisting in the supervision of beforecare and/or aftercare and transitions

·       Supports the work of the Guide by supervising children, assisting children with toileting, helping maintain the physical needs of the classroom including dishes, laundry and light material making such as laminating, cutting, and copying.

·       Participates in the supervision of lunch, recess and the nap room
