Days/Year: 185 days/year (Mon-Friday)
Salary: Per Clerical Agreement
Classification: Level 1, Step 1
Start Date: 8/24/2026 or As Soon As Possible
Position Summary
North Star Elementary is an elementary school in Hugo, MN starting its 5th year. We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and resourceful Building Assistant to be our Volunteer Coordinator and provide administrative support. Stationed in our main office, the Building Assistant will work closely with the principal and Admin. Assistant. Interacting with students, families and staff, this dynamic role requires someone who is flexible and desiring an exciting workplace where each day is different. They will be responsible for finding and coordinating volunteers, greeting visitors, providing backup to the office Admin. Assistant when absent, covering the health assistant when on break, updating the school website, completing some basic production responsibilities among other clerical needs as they arise. Individuals with office administration, customer service experience, and computer experience are greatly encouraged to apply! This position also has the potential to be combined with other roles for additional hours and benefits.
