RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determines, with Cafeteria Manager, the recipes and amounts needed for days menu and ascertains whether food supplies are on hand for next day.
- Assembles and prepares a variety of items for cooking; cooks and seasons all foods.
- Responsible for the ship out meals, prepare and organize ship out meals.
- Assures proper storage of left-over food; cares for various kitchen equipment; makes weekly check of orderliness and other related duties pertaining to the cafeteria.
- Helps with prep of soup, sandwich filling, and other tasks pertaining to prepping all the food that is served daily.
- Reports repairs and replacement needs to superior and assists with stock and storeroom arrangements as needed.
- Cashiering as needed.
- Assists in other tasks as assigned, including setting up cafeteria for special events.
Additional Information:
In manager’s absence – responsible for proper operation of kitchen, generating daily reports from the POS system, submitting daily cash from and completing the daily deposit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Experience in food service industry required
- Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) preferred
- Must be a positive contributor as a team player
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
