Whitby School seeks a Learning Specialist for our Middle School Program. The candidate will have successful experience and knowledge of Child Development and working with Middle School children ages 10-14. This position is temporary replacement for approximately 6 months. The salary for this position will be pro-rated based upon the length of the assignment.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a plus but not a requirement
- Coaching families/caregivers on learning activities that promote a child's acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas, including motor development, cognition, communication, personal social interaction and self-help skills.
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
- Skill in working with families and children with differing abilities.
- Skill in planning and organizing.
- Ability to demonstrate good communication, cultural sensitivity, interpersonal skills, and work independently and in a team environment.
- Assist families with accessing information and community resources.
- Document all records and forms in a timely, accurate, complete, and legible manner.
- Communicate details of each child's progress and development with faculty and team members.
- Comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines.
