Commercial Glass Project Manager
Whitaker Glass of Central Indiana – Lebanon, Indiana
Pay: $65,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience

Whitaker Glass of Central Indiana is seeking an experienced Commercial Glass Project Manager to oversee our commercial glazing projects and field operations throughout Central Indiana.
We specialize in commercial storefronts, curtain walls, aluminum entrances, doors, mirrors, and custom glass systems. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands commercial glazing, communicates well with general contractors, and can keep crews organized, productive, and accountable.
This is not strictly a desk-based project management position. The Project Manager will spend time in both the office and the field, supporting our glaziers, monitoring job progress, solving installation issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Whitaker Glass quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage commercial glazing projects from award through completion
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, schedules, and daily manpower
- Lead, train, and motivate glaziers and apprentices
- Review contracts, architectural drawings, shop drawings, hardware schedules, and project specifications
- Conduct jobsite visits and verify field conditions and dimensions
- Coordinate material releases, fabrication, deliveries, equipment, and installation schedules
- Communicate professionally with general contractors, owners, suppliers, and other trades
- Monitor project labor hours, material costs, budgets, and overall profitability
- Identify scope changes and provide timely documentation for change orders
- Resolve field issues before they affect the project schedule
- Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, jobsite photographs, correspondence, and progress updates
- Manage punch-list completion, closeout documents, and warranty items
- Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, PPE standards, and quality-control procedures
- Work closely with ownership, estimating, fabrication, and office personnel to keep projects moving
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of commercial glazing experience
- At least two years of supervisory, lead-glazier, or project-management experience
- Strong knowledge of storefront, curtain-wall, aluminum entrance, door, hardware, and glass installations
- Experience with commercial aluminum systems such as YKK AP, Kawneer, Tubelite, or similar manufacturers
- Ability to read architectural plans, shop drawings, specifications, and hardware schedules
- Strong field-measurement, layout, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, and priorities
- Professional communication skills when working with employees, general contractors, owners, and vendors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train employees and hold crews accountable
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Basic computer and project-management software skills
- WinBid Pro/GDS, Bluebeam, Procore, Knowify, or similar software experience is preferred
