What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intellectual Property - Patent Paralegal / Legal Assistant position at Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz PLLC?
Our Firm is currently in the process of recruiting an Intellectual Property Paralegal. This position will provide support for four busy attorneys in a highly collaborative working environment.
Job Description:
• Assisting attorneys with the preparation, prosecution, and filing of patent applications
- Maintaining and managing a U.S. and foreign patent prosecution docket
- Preparing correspondence and maintaining patent files
- Recording billable and non-billable time related to patent prosecution
Requirements:
- Paralegal/legal administrative degree/certificate or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of patent prosecution experience
- Experience with post grant work, including petitions for inter-parties’ review and post grant review and subsequent filings with PTAB, is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- if the candidate is a registered patent agent, then that is a benefit and will result in a higher salary.
