Jr Maintenance Technician

The equipment that powers a Whistle Express site is complex, always moving, and essential to the guest experience. As a Junior Maintenance Technician, you will learn how to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the tunnel, conveyor, vacuum, chemical, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems that keep our sites operating safely and reliably.

This is an entry-level, hands-on role designed for someone with mechanical curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a desire to build a career in maintenance. You will work alongside experienced technicians, complete defined maintenance tasks, and develop the skills needed to take on increasingly complex repairs. No maintenance degree is required; we will provide training, tools, and support as you grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and basic repairs on car wash equipment and building systems.
• Learn to identify and troubleshoot common mechanical, electrical, plumbing, conveyor, vacuum, and chemical system issues.
• Complete assigned work under the direction of a Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Supervisor and escalate issues beyond the role’s current skill level.
• Respond promptly to site maintenance requests and help reduce equipment downtime.
• Follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, chemical handling practices, and equipment standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts used, and follow-up needs.
• Keep tools, parts, maintenance areas, and company vehicles organized, clean, and ready for use.
• Partner with site leaders and maintenance team members to communicate equipment status and outstanding needs.
• Participate in hands-on training and demonstrate steady progress toward independently completing standard maintenance work.
  
  

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical curiosity and interest in learning how equipment and building systems operate.
• Basic ability to use or willingness to learn hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Dependable, responsive, and willing to learn through hands-on work and feedback.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with technicians, site teams, and leaders.
• Ability to use a mobile device or computer to review work orders and document completed work.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational, trade, automotive, facilities, or equipment experience is helpful but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned Whistle Express locations.
  
  

Work Environment

• Works at one or more Whistle Express locations and may travel within an assigned geographic market.
• Regularly works in active car wash environments with moving equipment, water, chemicals, vehicles, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or occasional on-call support based on training, business needs, or urgent repairs.
• Requires physical work including standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and safely working around mechanical equipment.
  
  

Base Pay Range

$15.00 - $26.75
