Job Overview
The Adult Day Health Director manages the Adult Day Health Center licensed for 48 members and directs all operational phases of the Adult Day Health Center Program including staffing, program development, & public relations. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative in developing and maintaining the Adult Day Health Program in accordance with the prescribed policy and within financial limitations. Work is performed under the supervision and guidance of the administration and is reviewed only from an overall standpoint in terms of success of the Program, compatibility with other long-term programs, and effectiveness in meeting Program requirements or expected results. Supervisory control is exercised over a staff of full and part-time subordinates and volunteers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Census & Outreach: Recruit, enroll, and retain participants to achieve and maintain a 48-person daily capacity; build strong referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, and senior living communities in Athens.
- Operations & Staff Leadership: Oversee daily operations, participant care, meals, activities, and transportation coordination. Hire, train, schedule, and mentor staff.
- Nursing & Clinical Care (for RN candidates): Conduct initial member assessments, develop and revise monthly Comprehensive Care Plans, execute preventive/rehabilitative procedures, manage clinical documentation, and coordinate specialized therapies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with Georgia adult day healthcare regulations, safety standards, documentation, and state inspections.
- Budget & Administration: Manage center budgets, billing support, vendor contracts, incident management, and quality improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Work History: Minimum 3 years of administrative or supervisory experience in adult day care, assisted living, home care, nursing, or a community-based aging program.
- Credentials: Must hold a valid Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license OR demonstrated experience as a licensed Adult Day Center Director/Administrator.
- RN Clinical Requirements (if applying as RN):
- At least 1 year of health/social services experience working with aging adults or chronic impairments.
- 1 year of administrative or supervisory experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
Skills & Key Traits
- Proven track record of census building, client recruitment, and community networking.
- Hands-on leader comfortable managing daily floor operations, staff, and family communications.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to work on-site in Athens, GA.
