Job Summary:
The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning & Nutrition:
Develop and implement meal plans that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
Ensure compliance with dietary guidelines and physician-prescribed diets.
Maintain records of special diets and food requirements.
Food Service Operations:
Supervise food preparation and service to ensure quality and safety.
Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and cost control.
Ensure proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
Staff Management:
Hire, train, and supervise dietary staff.
Establish work schedules and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations.
Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures.
Conduct regular inspections of food storage and preparation areas.
Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent certification preferred.
