What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Whiskey Library?
Whiskey Library ships curated bourbon to thousands of subscribers across the country. Every box that leaves our Okie Street warehouse is somebody's monthly treat, and a lot of them are gifts. We're a small, fast-growing team looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate who takes pride in getting every order out on time, packed right, with nothing broken.
We pay above the going rate for warehouse work in DC. We want this to be the best warehouse job you've had: a clean, safe building, a manager who backs you up, clear rules applied the same way to everyone, and room to move up as we grow.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Pick and pack subscription and e-commerce orders to our packing standard
- Verify every box (right bottles, right quantity, right customer) before the label goes on
- Print and apply shipping labels and check each batch for duplicates
- Stage packed boxes by carrier, then palletize and wrap them for pickup
- Help unload inbound pallets and move product to its assigned locations
- Keep your station and the floor clean all day, and help with end-of-day closing cleanup
- Report breakage, damage, and safety issues to the Warehouse Manager right away
PAY & SCHEDULE
- $20.00/hour
- $75 monthly Standards Bonus (up to $900/year) for good attendance and a clean station
- Overtime at time-and-a-half, planned at the start of the day
- Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid meal break
- Days: [Monday–Friday]
- Raises based on warehouse results and your individual record
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Reliable, on-time attendance. This matters more than anything.
- Strong attention to detail and careful handling of glass bottles
- Able to stand and walk for a full shift and lift cases up to 50 lb (team lifts for heavier loads)
- Willing to follow written procedures and keep a clean workspace
- Comfortable keeping your phone put away while on the floor (use it freely on breaks)
- Closed-toe shoes every day
- Must be 18 or older
- Warehouse, fulfillment, or shipping experience preferred; pallet jack experience a plus
GOOD TO KNOW
- Smoke- and vape-free property, including the lot and loading area
- Licensed spirits facility: product is never opened or consumed
- You'll report to our Warehouse Manager, who trains every new associate on our procedures
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 48.0 per week
