What You’ll Do:
Whisker is seeking a Senior PR Manager to own and elevate our public relations efforts across global markets—most notably in the U.S. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that will help shape and amplify Whisker’s brand reputation and presence in the media. You’ll be the main point of contact for our agency partners, working cross-functionally, leading key communications initiatives, building relationships with press and media, and bringing a strategic PR mindset to every launch and milestone.
This role reports to the Director of Brand Marketing and will work closely with our influencer marketing team to bridge earned media and creator relationships into a cohesive, scalable outreach engine.
Important note: You must be a cat person to thrive here. Our products are designed for cats and the people who love them. You’ll need to understand the pet parent perspective intimately, and ideally, have cats of your own.
Essential Duties and Responsibilties:

- Owns the PR strategy, develops and executes integrated PR plans to get attention for our brand and product including product launches, brand milestones, partnerships, and executive visibility
- Main point-of-contract for agency partners and internal teams
- Prepares for multiple major product launches by seeding and securing a large editorial community to cover product reviews, features, and ongoing stories
- Builds and maintains media relationships by leveraging your own press contacts and growing Whisker’s network of media partners, journalists, and affiliates
- Proactively crafts compelling narratives and pitch story angles to consumer, tech, lifestyle, and business press to secure earned media coverage
- Partners with influencer marketing: Collaborates closely with our influencer team to amplify key PR efforts and build joint creator-editorial campaigns
- Supports internal teams in shaping timely, accurate responses during crisis or sensitive communications moments
- Aligns with brand, creative, product, customer experience, and executive teams to ensure messaging consistency and storytelling excellence
- Prepares executives and spokespeople for interviews, panels, and press opportunities
- Monitors media coverage, manage reporting, and analyze PR effectiveness to continuously refine our strategy
- Will perform additional responsibilities as required
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- BA/BS in Communications, Marketing or relevant field and / or equivalent years of experience
- 6 years of relevant public relations or communications experience, ideally within consumer tech, lifestyle, DTC, or pet-related brands
- Proven ability to seed and secure consistent editorial coverage—both large-scale and niche
- Rolodex of active press contacts in relevant categories (tech, consumer, lifestyle, pet, business)
- Strong experience working alongside influencer and content teams for integrated campaigns
- Comfortable driving large launch narratives and managing multiple storylines simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience managing agency partners, freelancers, and media tools
- Thrives in an on-site, collaborative team environment
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
- A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
- Must love cats—and ideally have one (or more!) at home
