Job Summary: A Tacker is responsible for temporarily fastening metal components together using tack welds to prepare steel structures for final welding. This role supports the fabrication of metal building components by ensuring pieces are properly aligned, fitted, and secured prior to full weld-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Tack weld clips, plates, and steel components to structural members.
• Align and position metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Assist welders by preparing materials for final welding.
• Use measuring tools to verify spacing, fit, and alignment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Handle and move steel components using appropriate equipment when needed.
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of welding or metal fabrication preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic prints.
• Comfortable working with steel and fabrication tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
