Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic Technician will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks. The technician is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards while following DOT regulations and company policies.
Essential Duties:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, including fuel systems, transmissions, and cooling systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
- Conduct safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Repair, replace, or weld defective parts, components, or systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine issues.
- Test repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Interpret and execute work orders with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for diesel engines.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems, including brakes, electrical, and hydraulics.
- Ability to operate welding equipment and cutting torches.
- Punctual and reliable work attendance.
- Strong attention to quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
