What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Veterinary Assistant position at Whimsy Brook Farm, Ltd?
We are looking for additional part-time staff with horse care experience for our team. We operate from science, similar to the animal hospital which we also own, not fad or hearsay. Candidates should expect to fill out our application and do a working interview where we will assess your current knowledge and ability regarding working around horses; feeding, including the use of weights an measures; cleaning stalls, grooming, tacking and un-tacking, tack cleaning, driving a tractor (we do not use wheel barrows), equine first aide, equine mediation management, and any riding and/or training and teaching ability you may have. We have been a training facility for veterinary assistants, vet techs, and veterinarians for over 50 years.
Whimsy Brook Farm, Ltd. is a fully modern, equine teaching, training, and rehab facility designated by the State of Connecticut as a Horse Farm of Environmental Distinction. We sell organic compost and provide boarding, training, alternative equine rehab therapies, instruction in riding, horse science, and horse whispering, as well as equine assisted psychotherapy.
