About the Position
When Brown Girls Lead® (WBGL) is seeking a dynamic, equity-centered educational leader to serve as our next Program Director & Lead Presenter.
This individual will play a key role in designing, facilitating, and managing high-impact professional learning experiences for schools and districts across the country. The role combines external leadership development and presentation responsibilities with internal program planning, coordination, and implementation support across WBGL initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong facilitator and strategist who understands how to lead adult learning, build systems, support coaching initiatives, and translate vision into actionable programming. This person should be deeply grounded in instructional leadership, equity-centered practices, organizational development, and the realities of K–12 school leadership.
This is a highly collaborative leadership role that works closely with Dr. Nadia A. Bennett and the WBGL team to expand the organization’s impact and strengthen the quality and coherence of WBGL programming.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Learning & Facilitation
- Design and facilitate engaging professional learning sessions for school and district leaders, instructional teams, and educators

- Lead workshops, retreats, coaching sessions, and presentations aligned to WBGL’s mission and frameworks
- Support the facilitation of equity-centered leadership development and instructional improvement initiatives
- Customize presentations and learning experiences based on client needs, goals, and data
- Serve as a thought partner to school leaders around systems, instruction, culture, and organizational growth
Program Leadership & Internal Planning
- Oversee planning and coordination for WBGL program offerings and leadership initiatives
- Support the development of scopes of work, implementation plans, timelines, and client deliverables
- Manage internal systems connected to coaching initiatives, professional learning series, and leadership programs
- Collaborate with the WBGL team to ensure high-quality execution across projects and engagements
- Monitor program progress, logistics, and communication to ensure alignment and strong client experience
Coaching & Leadership Development
- Provide 1:1 leadership coaching focused on instructional leadership, systems alignment, and organizational growth
- Support leadership coaching initiatives and ongoing school partnerships
- Assist in developing tools, resources, protocols, and structures that strengthen implementation
- Participate in school walkthroughs, observations, feedback cycles, and strategic planning conversations
- Help schools and leaders translate learning into sustainable systems and practice
Organizational Support
- Contribute to the growth and evolution of WBGL programming and strategy
- Support planning for conferences, institutes, webinars, and leadership events
- Assist with internal planning meetings, program development, and cross-team coordination
- Represent WBGL professionally across client engagements and public-facing opportunities
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Significant experience in K–12 education leadership (school or district level preferred)
- Strong facilitation and public speaking skills
- Experience designing and leading adult professional learning
- Deep understanding of equity-centered leadership and instructional improvement
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and timelines simultaneously
- Experience with coaching, leadership development, or systems planning
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with school and district leaders
Preferred:
- Former principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, director, or district leader
- Experience leading professional development at scale
- Familiarity with data-informed leadership and instructional systems work
Position Details
- Must be located in the NY / NJ / PA area.
