Whelan Mellen & Norris, LLC is a litigation firm that represents national and in-state clients in South Carolina state and federal courts in a variety of civil matters, including bad faith, business and contract disputes, premises liability, and other personal injury. We value high-quality work product and thoughtful lawyering. We are interested in adding a Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of experience, and/or a more senior attorney in an Of Counsel role. Our office is located on Broad Street in Charleston and fully remote opportunities are available. Very competitive compensation. South Carolina bar admission required.
The Associate opportunity offers training and mentorship from experienced litigators; progressive responsibility; and substantial involvement in motion practice, discovery strategy, depositions, and client communication. The ideal candidate has strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; high level of initiative and attention to detail; and genuine desire to take ownership of work and grow as a litigator.
The Of Counsel role offers an immediate opportunity to take lead role on active litigation matters. It is ideal for an experienced South Carolina litigator who enjoys practicing at a high level and desires to contribute meaningfully to our existing caseload without the pressure of bringing or building their own book of business.
