Role Description The Labor & Employment Associate Attorney will handle a variety of labor and employment matters, including counseling employers on workplace policies, compliance issues, and risk management. Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research and analysis, drafting memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other court filings, handling employment litigation, and representing clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in either Providence, RI or Middletown, RI, requiring regular collaboration with attorneys and staff in the office and direct interaction with clients.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience practicing labor and employment law in federal and state courts.
- Strong foundation in labor and employment law, with the ability to interpret and apply federal and state employment statutes and regulations.
- Experience in litigation, including case management, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and representing clients in court and depositions.
- Research skills (including how to reliably use artificial intelligence platforms to improve efficiencies) and ability to draft clear, well-reasoned motions and legal memoranda.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong legal writing, editing, and presentation abilities.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to the Rhode Island Bar.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and strong client-service orientation.
