What are the responsibilities and job description for the PBX Operator position at Wheeling Park Commission?
The PBX Operator in the Front Office will be the heartbeat for Wilson Lodge and is responsible for processing courteous incoming and outgoing communications, while maintaining a positive and professional image.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understands the telephone operator board or PBX switchboard operations.
- Evenings, weekends and holidays a must.
- Answers all incoming calls to the resort.
- Directs calls to guest rooms, staff, or departments through the switchboard or PBX system.
- Places outgoing calls when necessary.
- Provides information about lodge services or resort amenities to guests.
- Knows what action to take when an emergency call is required.
- Assists in reporting telephone equipment or service complaints and problems.
- Adheres to our telephone etiquette requirements.
- Trains or assists with training new telephone operators in performance of job duties.
- To be fully aware of and adhere of health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures.
- Multitasking abilities will always come in handy, because a switchboard operator may be asked to do other jobs as well.
- Open and close telephone functionality at the beginning and end of each day.
- Keep record of call logs.
- Ability to speak clearly, distinctly and with a friendly, courteous tone.
- Takes and distributes messages for guests, provides information on guest services, and answers inquiries about public resort events.
- Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.
