Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Collects soiled linens from department according to schedule.
- Completes processing tasks such as counting, weighing, and recording items.
- Utilizes automated equipment or manual processes to process and clean the laundry.
- Delivers clean linens to departments and responds to special delivery or pick up requests.
- Follows all sanitation and infection control guidelines.
- Position requires Sitting, Standing, Bending, Lifting, and Moving around facility.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and push a minimum of 125 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull heavy, wet linen and move equipment and supplies throughout the work day.
- Must be able to wear latex, vinyl, neoprene, and rubber gloves when performing certain Laundry duties.
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning and laundry chemicals.
- Must be able to follow direction as given.
- Must be able to communicate with other employees and patients in a proper manner.
- Knows the procedures for infection control.
