Duties
- Install new HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment, following schematics and HVAC design plans.
- Conduct system inspections to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and building automation systems for accurate installation and repairs.
- Diagnose issues related to refrigeration, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain system features, maintenance procedures, and answer any questions professionally.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and installation.
- Service technician experience in HVAC or related fields such as plumbing or appliance repair is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems, and building automation systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters (electrical testing devices), and other specialized tools confidently.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system installation, repair, maintenance, and property upkeep.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
- EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or electrical systems are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently in the field as part of a team while maintaining safety standards at all times.
