Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite with flexibility for additional onsite days as needed for meetings or projects

Training: 100% onsite for the first few months (non-negotiable)

Job Summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Addison, Texas. This role is responsible for analyzing and documenting accounting treatment for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, supporting month-end close and audits, assisting with specialty areas such as Treasury and Insurance, and improving internal accounting policies and processes. The Technical Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Accounting Director and play a key role in strengthening the organization’s financial foundation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document accounting treatment for complex or non-standard transactions.
• Research, prepare, and maintain clear and thorough technical accounting memos and internal accounting policies in key areas including revenue recognition, impairment assessments, business combinations, and leases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accounting processes align with business decisions.
• Lead or support financial audits, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes, particularly in areas requiring technical judgment.
• Contribute to evaluation and design of internal controls and support audit readiness and risk management initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and improve documentation and review procedures.
• Support tax planning and regulatory reporting activities, working with advisors to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specialized Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience; 3 years of public accounting experience required.
• Technical accounting expertise with strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrates self-awareness, eagerness to learn, and a strategic mindset; willing to challenge the status quo.
• Ability to influence decision-making and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills required.
• Budgeting and business model experience preferred.
