Location: Abilene, TX
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract/Full-Time
Experience: 1 year of transferrable skills preferred; credit union or banking experience a plus
Position Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Growth Specialist to support campus-based financial service operations by assisting users with self-service banking tools, promoting financial products, and participating in community and campus engagement initiatives. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent service, supporting daily operations, and representing the organization at events. Strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to learn financial products quickly are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Banking Hub Support
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with digital and self-service banking tools, including online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs.
- Educate users on banking features to promote financial independence and confidence in self-service options.
- Support campus events, workshops, and outreach activities.
- Provide personalized consultation to individuals seeking financial guidance or product information.
- Promote financial products and services based on user needs and goals.
Product & Service Knowledge
- Maintain strong understanding of financial products, services, and digital banking tools.
- Stay current on updates to offerings to provide accurate and relevant information.
- Support marketing and engagement opportunities with campus and partner organizations.
- Assist with identifying outreach and growth opportunities.
Internal Communication & Collaboration
- Participate in department meetings, activities, and cross-functional teamwork.
- Provide backup support to Growth team members as needed.
- Keep management informed of operational updates, concerns, and opportunities.
- Refer customers to internal specialists when needed.
- Interact effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with special projects, including events that may occur on evenings or weekends.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
- Stay informed on financial industry trends and public relations best practices.
- Demonstrate strong judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
- Work independently with motivation and initiative.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Business, customer service, or financial services training preferred.
Required Knowledge
- Basic understanding of financial services or credit union/banking operations.
- Understanding of general business and communication processes.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of transferrable experience preferred.
- Experience in banking, customer service, or financial services is a plus.
