Position Summary
The Donor Services Specialist supports donor giving and relationship management by assisting with donor data processing, communication, and administrative tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking in handling financial transactions, maintaining donor records, and facilitating reporting using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT. The role also involves occasional volunteer supervision and local travel to support fundraising events and office operations

Key Area: Donor Data Management and Gift Processing
- Process and record all incoming funds, including donations and receivables, ensuring each item is properly documented and accounted for.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor, event participant, volunteer, vendor, and prospect records in the database, adhering to IRS and Wheeler Mission standards.
- Complete reporting and database upkeep as assigned, showing initiative in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide updated database information and resolve data-related issues.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all donor information in compliance with organizational policies.
- Handle donor interactions through mail, email, phone, and in-person meetings with professionalism, thankfulness, and a positive attitude.
- Create accurate and timely donor communications, ensuring all correspondence is properly documented.
- Act as a point of contact for donor inquiries, working to resolve issues promptly and escalate concerns with necessary.
- Provide support for special events by assisting with donor engagement, event coordination, and volunteer supervision.
- Supervise 1-5 volunteers as needed for specific office tasks or during events.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as participating in regular meetings, maintaining office supplies, and completing required reports.
- Organize and maintain donor records, occasionally lifting and filing documents (up to 35 pounds) and managing office equipment.
- Support local travel needs, such as weekly trips to the bank or other Wheeler Mission sites, using a personal or company vehicle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with high accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Previous experience using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge donor database preferred
- Belief in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible

- Perform normal business activities.

- This is a full-time 40-hour position. Typical work hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some flexibility. Position may be eligible for hybrid work after initial training period is complete.
- Travel is primarily local during a business day with travel to the bank and other Wheeler Mission sites as required. Additional travel to special event locations may be necessary as job duties demand.
