Wheeler Machinery Co. is currently seeking a full-time Welder to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metals, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and build instructions. Perform high-quality welds while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements. Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example. Work collaboratively as part of a team. Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.
- Train a teachable employee in needed areas
- Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions
- Read blueprints and identify markings
- Horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire
- Read inside and outside mic’s
- Set up and weld series of bores
- Fabrication from prints and weld projects
- Tig weld flat position(Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)
- Locate specs from sis
- Order parts
- Writing service reports
- Precision measuring
- Preform all other duties as assigned
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
- Must be a team player and work well with others.
- Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
- Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
- Always keep a safety mindset
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Overtime may be required
- Ability to have a resolve for problems when they arise.
