Position Summary

The Behaviorist for the Clinical Community Response Program conducts in-home behavioral support and crisis prevention services for children and young adults (age 8 up to age 20). The Behaviorist conducts assessments and provides behavior training to clients and the families of clients who have intellectual disability and behavioral health needs. These clients experiencing significant disruption within the family home or returning to the family home post hospitalization.

Education And Experience/Qualifications

Must hold a master’s degree in a related field (Psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy) and have a minimum of two years of experience providing positive behavioral supports to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Experience With Functional Behavioral Assessments Required.

Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must hold or be able to obtain one of the following credentials: LPCA, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, or Psychologist license.

Bilingual stipend available for clinicians who are bilingual in Spanish and English

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Maintain a caseload of up to 10 clients concurrently for up to 180 days length of treatment.

Conduct all services within the family home or community settings.

Completes functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and develops positive behavior support plans.

Conducts safety planning and crisis intervention.

Models and trains families on implementing positive behavior interventions,

Provides clinical consultation to other in-home support providers and collaborates with in-patient hospitals (as needed).

Develops transition plans to discharge which include the family in setting up appropriate, on-going in-home supports.

Attends case review meetings with Program Manager and RN.

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
